PN LASER PACK: SELF-PRODUCED NITROGEN FOR SAFE, COST-EFFECTIVE AND ECO-FRIENDLY LASER CUTTING
In order to achieve perfect laser cutting results, a protective gas is used during the cutting process. This avoids oxidation on the cut surface, prevents burr formation and protects the tool. Nitrogen is used for this purpose, particularly when cutting stainless steel and aluminium. The quantities required for this represent a significant cost factor in laser cutting. With the Inmatec PN LASER PACK nitrogen generator for on-site generation of protective gas, up to 70% of these costs can be saved and delivery bottlenecks can be avoided.
The N2 generation system, housed on a compact platform, has all the components for the continuous supply of the cutting gas nitrogen. Small amounts of hydrogen (H2) are added in a catalyser to the nitrogen produced by an PN generator, which initially has a purity of 99.9% (3.0). In this way, the residual oxygen is reduced and the purity of the nitrogen is increased up to 99.9995% (5.5). This saves large amounts of compressed air. An N2 product tank, an N2 buffer storage and an oil-free booster complete the package.
